Vehicular Accidents
While some injuries resulting from an accident are obvious and visible, others may not show up right away. Therefore, if you experience any unusual symptoms after a car accident, no matter how mild, you should report the symptoms to your doctor immediately and seek medical treatment.
It is important to remember the following notes if you are involved in a car accident:
- If anyone is injured, call the police and ask for medical assistance;
- Get the information of anyone involved in the accident, including their names, phone numbers, and addresses;
- Get the insurance and vehicle registration information of all drivers involved in the accident;
- Get the names and badge numbers of any police officers who come to the scene of the accident;
- Get the information of all the vehicles involved including makes and models of the cars and their license plate numbers;
- Use your cell phone to take pictures of the accident;
- Remember that you don’t have to answer any questions or make any statements to the other drivers’ insurance companies. If their insurance company calls you, politely decline to discuss any aspects of the accident with that insurance company until you have talked to a personal injury attorney first;
- Call a personal injury attorney as soon as you possibly can to discuss your case.
